R&D Activities

Our R+D team has extensive experience in the field of developing chemical processes and purifying active ingredients. Work on synthesis is accompanied by the analytical development required to fully characterise our active pharmaceutical ingredients.

Project management in our R+D activities enables us to distribute our resources flexibly, adequately and systematically, thereby achieving our goals in as short a time as possible.

Our new synthesis laboratories, opened in 2009, are fitted with state-of-the-art technology for process development. They have over 750 m2 of space for research, including a modern K-Lab, which works to GMP standards.

Interquim, s.a. has a pilot GMP plant, fully fitted with stainless steel, Hastelloy C and glass reactors with volumes ranging from 25 to 1,000 L and filtration, drying and final processing equipment (mills, micronisers, homogenisers, etc.) suitable for all activities relating to scaling up our processes before marketing the end product.

Interquim, s.a. has signed stable international agreements with different academic institutions and private contract research organisations enabling us to use state-of-the-art technology and bring added value to our products.

Sustainable Development

Green Chemistry

We develop our processes in line with principles of sustainability. Right from the initial development stages, our chemists work to avoid using hazardous or toxic substances and to minimise environmental emissions of contaminants. Our commitment to the environment also means we design and implement organisational measures and facilities to ensure strict compliance with European environmental regulations. ISO 14.001 certification is the just reward for the continual commitment and efforts of each and every member of our organisation.
